Our History
Sunrise-Amanecer Inc. Is a non-profit that was founded May 2019. We were founded by Amanda Huber Lopera, who is also our Executive Director and a Psychotherapist on the team. Amanda noticed a need in the community for responsive care in Spanish for the Latinx community. Amanda continually noticed a gap in quality mental health care for the latinx community and decided to start the work in creating a space to house community programing and mental health care in the triad area. It is important for us at Sunrise-Amanecer Inc. to be an affirming place for all. We are an LGBTQIA+ affirming agency and safe place for all.
Mission Statement
Sunrise-Amanecer is dedicated to serving and connecting the Latine, LGBTQIA+, and diverse populations to culturally humble and responsive mental health services.
